6” (150mm) Backing Pad/Discs

PLEASE NOTE – There are two types of backing pads. This is a dual action (DA) backing pad and can only be used with machines that accept this thread (5/16 24 UNF male). Please make sure that this is the correct baking pad for your machine.

Overview:

This quality backing pad is designed to be used with Hook & Loop sponges, bonnets, sanding discs and is also compatible with air sander polishers. This backing pad has a diameter of 150mm. The firm backing pad with a semi-flexible edge also has 8 holes for dust extraction. This backing pad can handle a maximum speed of 10,000 RPM & features 5/16” 24 UNF male threads.

Hook & Loop (VELCRO) - This is a general from of backing plate, which attaches to your machines spindle, and can be easily changed from one machine to another. The Hook & Loop locks into place with your Hook & Loop discs, which is a common type of sanding/polishing pads.

Dual Action (DA) – Our backing pads have a small stud which connects them to your machine by threading into your machine such as a polisher. This is known as a DA Hook & Loop backing pad.

Not sure what size pad you require?

When fitted the disc onto your backing pad there should be a slight lip around the edges, meaning the backing plate should be smaller than the pad.

Size Guide:

3” Backing Plate is ideal for 3.5”- 4.5” Pads
5” Backing Plate is ideal for 5.5”- 6.5” Pads
6” Backing Plate is idea for 6.5”- 7.5” Pads

Please note – The latter will be less efficient but does have a better safety margin.
