IP55 Rated Junction Box – Supplied with 30A 5 Way Terminal Block

Overview – Commonly used to join a 30A (or lower rated) ring main back up, to create a spur or to simply join 2 cables together. Can be used with up to 5 2.5mm² cables and it suitable with 240V AC & 3 phase (440V AC). The box has 7 entry points, it can be easily mounted to a wall and it can be used in an internal or external environment.

How to Install:

If you are in any doubt about installing this, please consult a qualified electrician for your safety as dealing with mains power cables is dangerous.

Remove the front cover by inserting a flat headed screw driver into the access slots around the rim and remove the terminal block. Note that a clear plastic cord is supplied to keep the lid and base unit attached for ease of use when installing.

Determine the number of cable entry points you require and drill into the box ensuring that you have appropriate glands to fit the hole that you have drilled (not using a cable gland or failing to seal the holes correctly will render the outdoor uses of this junction box redundant). It is also recommended to drill a drain hole (see rear of unit) to avoid any unwanted condensation build up.

After you have threaded the power cables through the holes you have just drilled, you can mount this to a wall, if required. using the appropriate screws & wall plugs (not supplied).

Finally, using the screw terminals, attach your stripped cables to the terminal block and secure this to the inside of the box. You will see a hex shape in the centre of the box, the terminal block slots over this and will securely stay in place. Close the lid and apply any sealant where necessary.

IP55 Rated - Protected from limited dust ingress and low pressure water jets from any direction.
