RJ45 8P8C CAT6A UTP Connectors - With moulded boots

Supplied in Packs of 10

Will accept cables with an outer diameter of 6mm to 7.6mm (reducing from 7.6mm to 6mm with the supplied space).

Used for - Termination connector for crimping on to the ends of CAT6a or CAT6 cable. This is the standard 8P8C (eight position, eight contact) RJ45 connector, most frequently used in PC networking applications, such as connecting PCs together, or to a modem, router or switch. These connectors can be used with stranded or solid core cabling for network connections of up to 10GBps but we recommend solid core as it is easier to install.

Installation – This is much easier than conventional connectors as no IDC punch down tool is required. Strip the insulation from the end of a piece of CAT6a / CAT6 cable. (Remove any foil that may be on your cable. This particular connector is unshielded so there is no need for the foil. If you require a shielded connector, please get in touch)

Now insert the conductors into the guide, this is colour coded so no wiring diagrams are required. The guide is fixed and cannot be removed. (Ensure you leave around 30mm of length of the conductors, this should give you ample space top insert them into the guide).

Now close the connector. If you have a thin CAT6 / CAT6a cable, you can use the supplied spacers as shown on the images above, this will allow the connector to grip a cable with a smaller Diameter than the cable would normally accept.

A full set of picture instructions can be found above.

Wiring - The connectors can be wired using TIA/EIA-568-A or TIA/EIA-568-B wiring configurations shown above, to create ‘Straight Through’ or ‘Cross Over’ cables.

'Cross over' cables are usually used for connecting 2 computers directly to one another, without the use of a Hub or Router. They use TIA/EIA-568-A wiring at one end, and TIA/EIA-568-B at the other.

'Straight through' cables can be used for connecting a PC or games console to a Hub/Router, or, in conjunction with AV extender devices, for audio and video distribution throughout a home or commercial project. To create a 'Straight through' cable, it should be wired using the same wiring variant at both ends. Either ‘568-A to 568-A’ or ‘568-B to 568-B’
