Uses - This adapter is used with DMX equipment to allow two 3 pin DMX cables to be connected instead of one 5 pin DMX cable.

Wiring - The XLR 5 pin DMX connector consists of a ground (pin 1), two wires for 'primary' communication (pins 2 & 3). There are also two wires for a 'secondary' communication (pins 4 & 5). This adapter splits the primary and secondary communication channels into 2 separate connectors. The wiring for connector 1 and connector 2 (which are labelled on the cable) is below.
