13A Twin Outdoor UK Weatherproof Socket (single pole)

Overview - This twin electrical socket can be used in an outdoor environment, or one in which a weatherproof power socket is required. Perfect for supplying power to lights in your garden, in outdoor containers or to the walls of your house. The lid is easy to open and close and there is a silicone type material to wrap around the cable at the point of entry to keep it watertight. Where the enclosure (the base of the socket) can be opened, it is lined with a black soft rubber watertight seal. The enclosure must be mounted on a flat vertical surface no more than 1.5m above the ground.
How to Use – Cable can be inserted through walls and easily connected through the back or side of this enclosure. The weatherproof power socket has eight 20mm cable inlets positioned on the sides and bottom of the enclosure so you can run your power cables through any of them. It is also supplied with two stepped cable glands (as pictured), each gland can be used with up to one cable at the point of entry and this helps to ensure the socket remains waterproof. It is also recommended that RTV silicone or acrylic sealing compound is placed around the cable at the point of entry. Where wiring is exposed to water or U.V. radiation, flexible rubber sheathed cables under the H05RN-F standard must be used.
IP66 Weatherproof rating - This means that when the lid/cover is in the closed position there will be no way in for dust and that water projected in powerful jets against the enclosure from any direction shall have no harmful effects.
Material and Colour - This twin power socket is manufactured from tough, UV stabilized, durable thermoplastic. It is grey in colour and also impact resistant.
