Step Ladders

Step Ladders come in a variety of different types, configurations & heights. The two main types of step ladders are a swingback step ladder & a platform step ladder. A swingback step ladder is generally considered more portable as it has a shorter height when closed & is usually more lightweight due to not having a platform at the top. A platform ladder, also known as a decorating ladder, is as the name suggests, popular amongst painters and decorators who require a platform (or shelf) at the top of the ladder to place a tin of paint or roller tray.

Unlike other types of ladders, a step ladder has a freestanding design that means it cannot be leaned against a wall. Thanks to the self-supporting design, they are unable to close whilst in use, thus creating a sturdy platform for working at heights.
