This RJ45 coupler can be used to join two shielded CAT5 /CAT6 (8P4C / RJ45) cables together, usually to extend them over a longer distance. The coupler is of the ‘straight’ variety, meaning if you use two CAT6 cables that are wired in the straight format, not crossover, they will remain in the straight format. You could also use this coupler with a crossover cable so it remains as a crossover cable.
This coupler is also shielded (FTP/STP) meaning that if you use shielded cables, you will still keep a shield even when coupling cables together to ensure the highest quality connection.
