Continuity or Tone Generator Setting

Overview

Allows you to quickly establish where a cable is running, perfect for alarm, telephone, network, speaker & coaxial (BNC - CCTV & aerial) cable runs. The tone generator should be connected to one end of the cable (using the crocodile clips), the tone receiver (on the right of the picture) can be used to track where the cable is going.

The RJ11 connection can be used to quickly connect into a RJ11/BT socket (when used with a BT - RJ11 adapter) to check the line is wired with the correct polarity, whether the line is off/on or whether the line is currently ringing.

The tone generator also has a continuity setting to check if a cable has a break within it. The LED will light green if there is continuity.
