HDMI CAT5 +
IR Extender
1080P @ 50M Lengths
480P @ 100M Lengths
Perfect for
long distance signal transmission, that would be otherwise not possible. Unlike
the majority of other HDMI CAT5 devices being sold, ours has IR
eyes which allow you to manage the equipment connected to your transmitter via
the receiver with your remote control. Read below to find out
more.
What
does the package include?
1 x Transmitter
1 x
Receiver
1 x Power Source - 100-240V, 5V Output - Used at
receiver side
1 x Instruction Booklet
2
IR (infrared) eyes, one for the transmitter, one for the
receiver.
What does it do and how do I use
it?
The HDMI transmitter sits next to your source, such as a Blu-ray
player and is connected to the source by a HDMI cable. The receiver should be
plugged into an output device such as a HDTV, using a HDMI cable. The output
device can be located up to 100 metres away. The network cable can then be run
in between the transmitter and receiver up to 100 metres in length and should be
wired in the 568B format. Control of the source (Blu-ray player) via the
receiver is possible using the IR eyes.
Why
buy?
Our HDMI extender allows
installers to take advantage of network cable for connecting HDMI devices over
long distances. Network cable is most commonly used for computer networking, it
is readily available and is very cheap. An RJ45 extender device such as this is
a much more cost effective way to connect devices over long distances without
loss of signal quality, (HDMI cables could only be run up to 15 metres, would
require a lot of shielding and would be very expensive). Network cable is
relatively thin and flexible so it is easily installed, for example through
walls. It can be self terminated which allows for tailored lengths to meet the
exact requirements of any home or commercial installation.
Distance – Actual usable
distance between the transmitter and receiver will vary on a number of factors
including strength of signal, quality of terminations and local sources of
interference. The use of FTP network cable when it is being run passed power
cables is recommended.
Build Quality
– The units are well built and are compact. They have a durable
metal chassis.
Gold Plated Connectors – to increase signal
quality
Infrared
Eyes - There are 2 infrared eyes, one is connected to the
transmitter and the other is connected to the receiver. The eyes allow you to manage the equipment connected to your
transmitter via the receiver with your remote control. For example you could control a Blu-ray player that is downstairs
from upstairs of your home. The IR system in these units works on 38KHz, you
need to check the equipment you wish to control (for example a Blu-ray Player)
and make sure it works on the same frequency band otherwise it will not work.
Cables – In order to produce the best quality over long distances, we would recommend use of high quality cables, running to and from the transmitter and receiver. If you need guidance, please email us. The use of pure copper CAT5e/CAT6 is recommended.
