Uses - This adapter is used with DMX equipment to allow 3 Pin DMX and 5 Pin DMX cables to be used together easily.
Wiring - The XLR 5 pin DMX connector consists of a ground (pin 1), two wires for 'primary' communication (pins 2 & 3) which are usually used for going from a DMX source to a DMX receiver. There are also two wires for a 'secondary' communication (pins 4 & 5), where data can flow from a DMX receiver back to the source, the secondary channel is not commonly used.
