6 Way 4G Aerial Distribution Amplifier (1m Power Lead)
2 Inputs - 1 UHF (TV), 1 VHF (FM radio)
Type of Connection – Aerial Connectors – F-Connector Adapters are supplied
What does it do?
This ultra-wideband distribution amplifier can be used with one or more aerials and is designed to improve picture and sound quality by amplifying weak UHF & VHF (FM and TV) signals and distributing these signals to multiple locations around your home. The 2 inputs (UHF & VHF) are combined and distributed to the outputs (8db gain per output). Good quality coaxial cable loses about 0.18db/metre, therefore a cable run of 40 metres would lose about 7.2db so the amplifier gain should be roughly the same or slightly more than this. It can be used with digital (Freeview) or analogue signals.
4G Ready – This means that this amplifier has a 4G LTE filter built in that cuts out interference and channel loss caused by 4G mobile phone signals and phone mast signals.
DC Power pass - DC power pass means devices such as magic eye remote control extenders (commonly used for controlling sky boxes from another room) are compatible. If you would also like one of these devices please view our shop.
Short Circuit Protection - The distribution amplifier has a built in short circuit protection on each individual output, meaning, if a short circuit is detected, only the output with the short circuit will be shut down.
Full Output – This single full output has a gain rating of 20dB which is designed for use over a long run of coaxial cable. For example, if you have an offsite building that you require to be on the same aerial network, this will maintain a great quality signal at long lengths.
How do you use it?
Usually this distribution amplifier would be situated in your loft. Cables to all of your TVs would then be run from the outputs of the distribution amplifier. Depending on how the wiring has already been set up in your house, the cable from your aerial would run to your satellite receiver (if you have one), then the outputs of this satellite receiver would run to your main TV and distribution amplifier (UHF input). If you have an FM aerial this would usually be run directly to the distribution amplifier and connected to the VHF input. If you require coaxial cable, this is also available from our shop.
