RJ45 8P8C CAT6 FTP Connectors - With moulded boots

Supplied in Packs of 10

Used for - Termination connector for crimping on to the ends of CAT6a or CAT6 cable. This is the standard 8P8C (eight position, eight contact) RJ45 connector, most frequently used in PC networking applications, such as connecting PCs together, or to a modem, router or switch. These connectors can be used with stranded or solid core cabling for network connections of up to 10GBps but we recommend solid core as it is easier to install. Our connectors are FTP which means they can be connected to FTP (shielded) cable to help shield the cable from interference. To make sure the shield is utilised within the cable, please make sure your RJ45 sockets in your equipment you plan to use these connectors with are shielded too.

Installation – This is much easier than conventional connectors as no IDC punch down tool is required. Strip the insulation from the end of a piece of CAT6a FTP cable, leaving a small 1cm piece of foil from your cable (this is what will contact the connector creating a shielded connection).

Now insert the conductors into the guide, this is colour coded so no wiring diagrams are required. Once inserted trim the ends with a set of snips.

Once trimmed, insert the guide into the connector (this can only be inserted one way so don’t worry about it being inserted incorrectly).

Now close the connector and tighten up the connector boot

A full set of picture instructions can be found above.

Wiring - The connectors can be wired using TIA/EIA-568-A or TIA/EIA-568-B wiring configurations shown above, to create ‘Straight Through’ or ‘Cross Over’ cables.

'Cross over' cables are usually used for connecting 2 computers directly to one another, without the use of a Hub or Router. They use TIA/EIA-568-A wiring at one end, and TIA/EIA-568-B at the other.

'Straight through' cables can be used for connecting a PC or games console to a Hub/Router, or, in conjunction with AV extender devices, for audio and video distribution throughout a home or commercial project. To create a 'Straight through' cable, it should be wired using the same wiring variant at both ends. Either ‘568-A to 568-A’ or ‘568-B to 568-B’
