RJ45 8P8C CAT6 UTP Connectors - With moulded boots
Supplied in Packs of 4.
Will accept cables with a maximum outer diameter of 6.5mm.
Used for - Termination connector for crimping onto the ends of CAT6. This is the standard 8P8C (eight position, eight contact) RJ45 connector, most frequently used in PC networking applications, such as connecting PCs together, or to a modem, router or switch.
Installation – This is much easier than conventional connectors as no IDC punch down tool is required. Strip the insulation from the end of a piece of CAT6 cable. (Remove any foil that may be on your cable. This particular connector is unshielded so there is no need for the foil.)
Now insert the conductors into the guide, this is colour coded so no wiring diagrams are required. The guide is fixed and cannot be removed. (Ensure you leave around 30mm of length of the conductors, this should give you ample space to insert them into the guide).
A full set of picture instructions can be found above.
Wiring - The connectors can be wired using TIA/EIA-568-A or TIA/EIA-568-B wiring configurations shown above, to create ‘Straight Through’ or ‘Cross Over’ cables.
'Cross over' cables are usually used for connecting 2 computers directly to one another, without the use of a Hub or Router. They use TIA/EIA-568-A wiring at one end, and TIA/EIA-568-B at the other.
'Straight through' cables can be used for connecting a PC or games console to a Hub/Router, or, in conjunction with AV extender devices, for audio and video distribution throughout a home or commercial project. To create a 'Straight through' cable, it should be wired using the same wiring variant at both ends. Either ‘568-A to 568-A’ or ‘568-B to 568-B’.
