HDMI Over Single CAT5e/CAT6 Wall Plates &
IR Extender
All cables should be wired in the
568B format.
Our HDMI wall plate kit comes with a HDMI transmitter and
receiver, which are perfect for long distance signal transmission
(that would otherwise not be possible) and can be fitted to a standard UK back
box. Our wall plates have IR eyes too which allow you to manage the
equipment connected to your transmitter via the receiver with your remote
control. Read below to find out more.
PLEASE NOTE: To ensure the best quality
connection, pure copper CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6a or CAT7 should be used. If you are
going to be running the cables nearby/around power cables, we
recommend the use of an FTP or STP (shielded) cable to provide protection against
interference.
1080P/3D @ 50m Lengths (using CAT6 or above)
What does the package include?
1 x HDMI Wall Plate Transmitter - Gold Plated Connections
1 x HDMI Wall Plate Receiver - Gold Plated Connections
1 x Instruction Booklet
2 x IR (infrared) eyes, one for the transmitter, one
for the receiver.
2 x Power Supplies (for each wall plate) – each at 5V DC 1.2A
What does it do and how do I use it?
The HDMI wall transmitter sits next to your source, such
as a Blu-ray player and is connected to the source by a
HDMI cable. The HDMI wall receiver should be plugged into an output
device such as a HDTV, using a HDMI cable. The output device
(HDTV) can be located up to 50 metres away (for 1080P resolution). A
single length of CAT5e or CAT6 cable can then be run in between
the transmitter and receiver and connectors should be crimped on. We sell
crimping tools and RJ45 connectors in our shop. Control of the source
(Blu-ray player) via the receiver is possible using the IR eyes. Simply
position the IR emitter eye (connected to the front of the
transmitter wall plate) in front of your source (Blu-ray player) and
point your remote control at the IR receiver (connected to the front of the
receiver wall plate) which can be positioned in another room.
Why buy?
Our HDMI CAT5e/CAT6 extender allows installers to take
advantage of CAT5e/CAT6 ethernet cable for connecting HDMI devices over
long distances. An extender device such as this is a much more cost effective
way to connect devices over long distances without loss of signal
quality. CAT5e/CAT6 cable is relatively thin and flexible so it is easily
installed, for example through walls. It can be self terminated which allows
for tailored lengths to meet the exact requirements of any home or commercial
installation.
