Cylinders

What are door cylinders? A door cylinder is the part of the lock mechanism which you insert the key into. When locked, it engages spring-loaded pins, keeping the cylinder from turning.

There are a few different types of key locks known as profiles. Deciding which profile you require depends largely on your door hardware. Different door handles and cylinder sashlocks accept different profiles and you need to make sure that all your hardware is compatible. The two main types of cylinder profile are euro profile & oval profile.
