Signal Bandwidth – HDMI is backward compatible with DVI-D single link (it is not compatible with Dual Link). Therefore there are transfer rates of up to 4.95GB/s of digital video data using this cable. This cable supports the highest transfer rate between HDMI and DVI-D that can be achieved! At 4.9gb/s there’s bandwidth to spare for future enhancements in technology. Do not believe any company who says their 'DVI-D to HDMI' cables can support 10.2GB/s as it is impossible.
Triple Shielding, PVC jacket and an outer Nylon Sheath! - Simply unbeatable, all noise is diminished. The signal is pure and unmarked. The high density braid shielding cuts out most of the interferance.
Compatibility - Remember DVI (digital video interface) connectors do not support audio so a ‘DVI-D to HDMI cable’ cannot support audio either. Look at our ‘audio interconnects’ if you would like to transfer audio as well.
Omni-directional – This means the cable can be used so a DVI-D source can drive HDMI device such as a HD TV, or vice versa, where a HDMI source drives a DVI-D device such as a monitor or projector.
Connectors – DVI-D (digital) connectors are used with HDMI connectors due to HDMI connectors only being able to transfer a digital signal, not analogue. DVI connectors are all the same standard size. The connectors used on the HDMI part of the cable are type A. The ‘Type’ stands for the size of connector used and the amount of pins it has. Type A is the most commonly used connector and is used in Sky HD Boxes, PS3s and most HD ready plasma and LCD televisions.
Gas Injected Dielectric Material - This material is used for isolation, to keep the capacitance low and to maintain the signal strength and impedance across the cable.
HDCP (High-Bandwidth Digital Content Protection) - This cable is compatible with content scrambling used in current equipment, such as HD TVs and new, up and coming HD DVD players. This increases security and enables the cable to work with every new piece of equipment coming out.
Cable Supports – Supports 1080P and a resolution of up to 1920 x 1200.
Function - These cables were designed to transfer high-bandwidth (large data content) of 100% uncompressed digital video.
OFC – The cable is made using oxygen free copper which increases the signal quality across the length of the cable. This generates a much purer signal
Gold plated connectors – What’s the point in a high quality cable if the signal is not transferred properly? The connectors on this ‘HDMI to DVI’ cable have a solid metal alloy with 24 carat gold plating. These cables don't have a lacquer protection because they do not need it (gold will not tarnish). 24 carat gold achieves better conductivity when lacquer is not in use and provides a better transfer from one piece of equipment to another.
Durable PVC jacket - The thick jacket helps to protect the cable against wear and tear
Cable strain relief to protect the cable - Enables the cable to be bent in a multitude of directions without breaking, unlike many poorer quality cables sold by different companies.
These cables are digital! – Due to this cable being digital and not analogue, attenuation, (loss of quality), is minimal over large distances due to the all or nothing principal that is used in digital technology. Therefore the quality produced by a 5 metre cable won’t differ from a 1.5m cable.
Standards - HDMI ATC compliance-tested and certified.
